normal commuters

Road works are interrupting our commute, which means the cyclists and pedestrians bunch up and talk to each other. You can't do that in a car, which is why I have abandoned driving. We all had a "good morning" and a laugh, and connected as people. That is why active transport makes better communities. Cycling is real.

I know what you mean. I recently abandoned car travel as well, and now I ride my bike to the train station, fold the bike up, and bring it on the train with me. You want to talk about real contact with people! Try riding a morning rush hour train with a folding bike!

Man, the fact that I may be going back to the "real" world and do a little work means I have to think about a truck, which makes my head hurt. I haven't paid for repairs or insurance or (shudder) gasoline in nigh on a year. Sigh...

Too bad you have to get a truck on the road for work TJ. It is amazing how fast the dollars stack up when you are earning without a car. : (

Hope this means things are looking up in your economy, my retirement seems to be depending on it! Super funds, the government won't let you keep them under the mattress.
