self portrait with stones

Since we live in a world where nothing gets fixed if nobody complains, I take a lot of photos of dirt, potholes, bushes overwhelming paths, etc., etc. Well somebody has to do it. Last time I sent one of these to the powers that be in the "Estate Office" I was piously informed that the road is swept daily. I told them to start dropping the brushes til they hit the bitumen. I am such a Bitch. This has been getting progressively worse for weeks, so here we go again.

Dee, you might want to suggest to them that they engage some technology called 'Snap Send Solve'. It's a smart phone app that allows you to take a photo of an issue, which is geotagged and then submitted directly to the Council.

Not sure of the back end requirements, but I'm sure it's not too onerous.

Oh, the wonders of spatial technology!

I have had that app for ages, but it crashes when I take a photo so it is pretty useless. Anyway, this is a University road, so not a council problem. I have to do a Mexx request on the uni system, and then it will get fixed pretty quick usually.

keep on being bitchy -- this stuff's the worst when you're flying down the road! It's always frustrating when the shoulders—our roadways—are marginalized and full of potholes, broken glass, and crap in general.

All fixed by the end of the day! I really appreciate the grounds maintenance guys, they are super. Sadly, since you complain on a form there is really no place to say "thanks, well done!". An email to the boss might be in order...
